Ghana Music Awards UK 2019 Launched In Accra

Alordia Promotions, organisers of the Ghana Music Awards UK, have officially disclosed that this year’s edition will take Place in London UK on October 5, 2019.

The launch, which was held at the Accra City Hotel, was attended by a large number of personalities, including musicians, music producers, sound engineers and a section of the stakeholders in the music industry.

It also attracted the sponsors of the event, as well as some of the previous award winners.

Some of the personalities who graced the launch were Abeiku Santana of Okay FM, Duke Banson (CEO of Paradise Entertainment), Ernest Kwasi Ennin, (CEO of Media Excel Productions) host of others.

Top musicians like Bernice Ansah, SP Kofi Sarpong, Dela Botri, Akwaboah, Yaa Pono, Scew Faze, Bless, Eazzy, Nhyiraba Kojo, Kumi Guitar, Ayesem, Epixode, Mzbel, Article Wan among others also graced the occasion.

The launch also saw performances from some selected artistes like Dela Botri, SP Kofi Sarpong, among others. The nominees were also unveiled at the event.

This year’s event has 31 categories, including artiste of the year, most popular song of the year, best new artiste of the year, popular song of the year, uncovered artiste of the year, producer of the year, hiplife artiste of the year, best music video of the year, among others.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Alordia Productions, Eric Nii Tetteh, popularly known as DJ Alordia, revealed that the awards scheme is being organised to market and promote Ghanaian music on the world music market.

He mentioned that the awards, which will be held in London, is being organised to reward deserving artistes for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the progress of the Ghana’s music industry

According to him, this year’s edition is expected to attract a large number of stakeholders, including international artistes and their managers from Africa, Europe and United States.

On his part, Abeiku Santana said the awards scheme came into existence in 2004, and it has been one of the most patronised events on the entertainment calendar in UK.

He also congratulated DJ Alordia for sustaining the awards scheme.

Abeiku Santana called on all the stakeholders in the music industry to come together and work as a team to push the industry forward.
